We are pleased to announce that Burnopfield Pharmacy is now an accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, approved to provide yellow fever vaccination and the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis that may be needed for travel.

Yellow fever is a serious infection spread by mosquitoes in parts of sub-Saharan Africa, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Vaccination is recommended for many travellers aged 9 months and over who are visiting areas where yellow fever is a risk.

Some countries require proof of yellow fever vaccination for entry. This may apply when you are travelling from, or have transited through, a country where yellow fever is present — even when there is no yellow fever risk at your final destination. Requirements vary by country and can change, so travellers should check the latest advice for every destination and transit stop before departure.

The vaccine is only available from approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres. It should usually be given at least 10 days before travel so that it is effective and the certificate is valid for entry requirements. For most people, one dose and its certificate are valid for life.

Our pharmacist will review your destination, travel plans and medical history to confirm whether vaccination is recommended and suitable for you. Please book in good time before you travel.
